Amur – A new Year 2026
A Community Supporting 90 Children
At the Amur Centre, we are currently supporting 90 children, each contributing 30,000 UGX. This provides a total monthly income of:
2,700,000 UGX
This contribution helps cover essential needs, creating a space where children can learn, grow and feel supported within their community.
Monthly Running Costs
To keep the centre operating, the following monthly expenses are required:
- Teachers: 1,350,000 UGX
- Furniture: 700,000 UGX
- Food: 500,000 UGX
- Water and power: 50,000 UGX
- Learning materials: 200,000 UGX
- Sports: 230,000 UGX
Total monthly expenditure: 3,030,000 UGX
This means the centre is currently facing a monthly shortfall of 330,000 UGX.
Building Sustainability – Piggery Project
To create a more stable and self-sustaining future, we are proposing a piggery project.
- Total required: 4,300,000 UGX
This project will provide ongoing income to help cover running costs, reduce reliance on donations and support long-term growth.
Urgent Situation at Acci Centre
Alongside the Amur Centre, our Acci Centre is facing a serious challenge.
Part of the structure has been blown off by strong winds, leaving the buildings damaged and unsafe. At the same time, government soldiers operating in the area are currently using the remaining structures as a temporary camping site.
Efforts are being made to speak with them, however, without the funds needed for repairs, the situation remains unresolved.
As a result, the children are currently staying at home, unable to access their learning environment.
What Support Will Help Achieve
Support at this time will directly help to:
- Cover the monthly shortfall at Amur Centre
- Repair and restore the damaged structures at Acci Centre
- Establish the piggery project for long-term sustainability
- Bring children back into a safe and supportive learning space
A Shared Opportunity
This is an opportunity to support not just a centre, but a growing community of children who are ready to learn, connect and thrive when given the right environment.
Each contribution helps move the centres from uncertainty into stability, and from short-term survival into long-term sustainability.
