Building Hope Together at Lamunyungu Empowerment Centre
Every great community project begins with people willing to roll up their sleeves and work together. At the Lamunyungu Empowerment Centre in Uganda, that is exactly what is happening.
Before sunrise, members of the community headed into a nearby forest to carefully collect logs from nature. These logs will be used for the roof structure, as well as making ladders and support stands needed during construction. It was a busy and productive start to the day, with everyone playing their part in moving the project forward.
The construction site is alive with activity. Builders are making excellent progress, while children from the community are also helping where they can. The rapid pace of construction means materials are being used quickly—a wonderful sign that the project is moving ahead just as everyone had hoped.
The team has now reached the stage where more cement is needed for the reinforced concrete beams, along with additional bricks to keep the work progressing. The builders are so committed that they do not want to stop, and Generous has even begun borrowing materials locally to avoid delays while further funds are raised.

Project Update
The project has currently received:
- Funds received: UGX 7,462,312
- Still needed: UGX 8,413,688
Recent purchases have included cement, bricks, sand, timber poles, tools, binding wire, transport and labour—all essential to keeping the construction moving.
This project is about much more than bricks and mortar. The Lamunyungu Empowerment Centre is creating a place where children can learn, families can thrive and the whole community can look towards a brighter future.
