Lamunyungu classroom progress – 14th August 2026

Work continues to move forward at the Lamunyungu Empowerment Centre, where new classrooms are being built to provide the children with a safer and more welcoming place to learn.

The video below gives an update from the centre, showing the progress being made on the new building. Everyone is looking forward to the new year, when the children will be able to begin using their new classrooms.

But learning at Lamunyungu isn’t waiting for the building work to finish. Alongside their usual education, the children are gaining practical experience in agriculture. They have been busy growing groundnuts, also known as peanuts, learning how to plant, tend and grow their own crops. The groundnuts are doing very well and it is wonderful to see the children developing skills that connect their education with the land and their community.

Every contribution is helping the centre move closer to providing the facilities these children need and creating opportunities that can benefit the wider community for years to come.

There is still work ahead, but the progress at Lamunyungu is clear to see — from the walls of the new classrooms rising to the crops growing in the ground.
