A true story of a dog who waited to be chosen — and the love that found him.

Charlie’s journey began in silence—tied, confused, and left behind—but it did not end there.

Through kindness, patience, and the unwavering belief of those who refused to give up on him, Charlie found safety where there was once fear, structure where there was once chaos, and love where there had been loss. He learned to trust again. He learned that hands could heal, routines could comfort, and that he was never “too much” or “not enough.”

Rescue did not save Charlie because he was perfect. Rescue saved him because he was worth saving.

In the end, Charlie became Ben once more—safe enough for his real name to be spoken, home enough to rest, loved enough to let go.

He found his forever family, his sofa, his window to wait at, and a child whose footsteps meant the world returning each afternoon.

This story is not just about one dog. It is about the power of patience, the responsibility of rescue, and the quiet heroism of choosing the dog first—always.

For every dog still waiting: You are seen.

You are worthy. And your story matters.

This book was easy to read, I couldn’t put it down, I found it so sad, but so happy it had a happy ending Margaret – Stevenage

  2. Marie D Stevenage

Amazing book, it is really sad, but the ending was incredible!

  3. Lal “Wales”

Our book arrived today, I’m not known for leaky eyes, but today they leaked! Seeing our names in print felt very humbling, the photo of him waiting, looking through the window when Faith was due home from school, reading all he went through before he arrived, I think any of my friends that knew him would have a little sob too, I couldn’t put the book down, all read in one session, it turned out sweet.

  4. Sue “Lowestoft”

This book is extremely well written not my normal genre, I am sure it will tug at all animal lovers heart strings.
